Ice melts at 0°C without change in temperature by absorbing the energy of fusion. Such energy will also be required for melting the ice through heating. Water at 0°C (ice) has a heat of fusion (ΔHf) of approximately 334 J/g

Therefore,
Energy transferred to ice for it to melt, E = mΔHf = 4.6*334 = 1536.4 J
