Parthenogenesis is the term that describes the mode of asexual reproduction in which offspring develop from unfertilized eggs.
 It is a natural form of asexual reproduction which means that there is no fertilization. The  growth and development of embryos occur without fertilization.
In animals an embryo is developed from an unfertilized egg cell.
