The formula of a midpoint:

[tex]M_{AB}\left(\dfrac{x_A+x_B}{2},\ \dfrac{y_A+y_B}{2}\right)[/tex]

We have:

[tex]A(7,\ 12)\to x_A=7,\ y_A=12\\B(-1,\ 6)\to x_B=-1,\ y_B=6[/tex]

Substitute:

[tex]\dfrac{7+(-1)}{2}=\dfrac{7-1}{2}=\dfrac{6}{2}=3\\\\\dfrac{12+6}{2}=\dfrac{18}{2}=9[/tex]

Answer: (3, 9).
